Looking for a NON-platinum Tippmann 98 Custom ACT?
so im thinking about getting into paintball and im planing to get a marker on my birthday. i like the tippmann 98 custom, but i like the older ones not the newer bulker picatinny rail ones. i want the one with the slimmer body but it has to have A.C.T.. So does anyone know where to get one of these with the basic stuff like hopper, maintenance kit, and mask for around 100 – 150 dollars? also, does the A.C.T. really make that big of a difference? remember i dont like the platinum series 98’s. so if anyone could give me some input on this situation it would be much appreciated. thanks!
The act works but not all the time. It really doesn’t make a big enough of a difference to even bother spending the money on it because even with the act you can still chop paint. It isn’t the best designed anti chop system and it is better to just buy a regular 98 custom and a good loader that will feed plenty fast enough for the marker and you wont have a problem with chopping paint. Even with a gravity fed loader you shouldn’t hardly ever chop paint with the 98 custom because it is hard to shoot fast enough to chop paint if you use a good gravity fed loader.
But if you plan on using a response trigger or e-grip then you should get a good electronic loader like a invert too, halo b, or something like that.
If you look on ebay you can buy a 98 custom for about $100 new or a act model for about $150.
