Airbag malfunction, or Technology advancement?
I had a front-end collision while driving the following vehicle:
2006 Ford Mustang GT Premium Edition w/12000 miles.
My car struck a vehicle on its side with my front end at an approximate speed of 35-40 mph.
Upon impact, the driver’s side airbag deployed as designed. The passenger’s seat was empty and the airbag on that side did not deploy.
I did NOT have the airbag turned off with they key.
If there is any Ford Tech out there who can tell me WHY the passenger airbag did not deploy in that vehicle, or should I be talking to a guy in a suit with degrees hanging from the wall?
There are weight sensors in the seats, no weight, air bag won’t deploy.
I’ve seen cars in collisions, with the driver wearing the seat belt, no one on the passenger side, and the passenger’s air bag deployed, and the driver’s didn’t.
