Feed Mod

Tippman Alpha Black with mods or Tippman A5?
Im getting into paintballing and after looking around for a while online i’ve decided on either the tippman Alpha or A5 both of which i would get the tactical mods for (M4 stock and front barrel shroud). however im unsure of which to get. A friend of mine has an A5 and loves it but im not sure if i want to spend the extra money. So…
*Which one would you recomend
*Which comes with the Cyclone Feed system (if not both)
*Do anyone that has one of them have anything to say about it?
Thanks
First off the alpha black is a 98 custom just with a different body, the internals are the same and everything just has a more of a mil sim body on it thats all.
Don’t send the extra money on the a5 it is not worth it. The a5 is the one that comes with the cyclone feed and the stock cyclone feed sucks. It has a horable feed on it that tends to chop paint and sucks at a rebound ball test. The cyclone feed needs to be upgrade to make it of any good use. You can buy the cyclone feed for the alpha black to but some thing you need to upgrade it.
The only thing the a5 has over the alpha is the internals. The internals on the a5 are a lil more finely tuned and it has less kick to it. But the poor operation of the stock cyclone feed and the fact that the a5 does really bad on gas efficency because of the cyclone feed makes the alpha the clear and cut choice.
The alpha will get you more shots per tank. You can use any loader you want on it and a good electronic loader will feed faster then the cyclone feed any day. Also it is a lil lighter then the a5 and it isn’t as bulky as the a5. The internals beging different isn’t that much of an improvement for the a5 from the alpha (98 custom) so it doesn’t make that big of a difference.
I have owned both and i have worked on both and the alpha has much less problems then the a5 and stock it is better. The ungrades that the a5 has over the alpha isn’t large enough to make the a5 worth paying $100 more for. Also the alpha is a 98 custom and it is one of the most reliable and fool proof designs made and as long as you maintain it you won’t have any problems.
