whats a good paintball marker for under $200?

i like the Ion, but its a bit pricey. my friend has a tippman A5 and his dad has a 98 custom. they are pretty nice but the 98 has a gravity fed hopper which i dont like, and i think the A5 is out of my price range. is the 98 custom a good gun? what size barrel should i use? my friend just bought a 14″ for his, and someone else told me not to go longer than 16″, unless im doing sniper stuff. what does a longer barrel do?

First off barrels longer then 16″ do not improve accuracy, they do cause extra wear on the paintballs and cause more barrel breaks. a 14″ barrel is a great all around barrel

I would suggest the Ion, Because it is a electro you will be able to fire faster, optic eyes prevent chopping and it is a great marker for the price. It has tons of upgrades that you can do to customize it.

The A-5 is a more expensive marker initially but once you consider that it comes with a great hopper that you would normally pay 70$ for it turns into a good deal.

Tippmann 98 customs are reliable markers however they dont have the same potential as a A-5 or Ion. I promise you that one day you will look at your 98 custom and wish you had bought something better.

A-5’s and Ions keep there value better so when it comes time to sell you will get more money back.
