Marker Gun Hopper
I’m buying a paintball gun and need help choosing?
I’ve been playing paintball for sometime now and want to get my own gun,But my mom says that i need to give the good and bads of having one. also if i can convince her to buy me one i need help buying one. I want to get one that is cheap but good. and i also want to know much it will cost all together with the marker gas tank hopper and allthe stuff needed.
First, go over safety info with her and explain how you will follow these rules AT ALL TIMES:
- The mask must be worn at all times with paintball guns that have no barrel sock (cover that goes over the barrel, retained with an elastic cord)
- The gun must have a barrel sock whenever it’s not in use (unless you’ve removed the barrel, tank, hopper & paintballs to pack it up).
- Paintball guns must shoot at 300 fps or less, measurable only by a chronograph ($60-80 new for a handheld chrono or just use ones provided at a paintball field).
- Again, MASK ON AT ALL TIMES AROUND PAINTBALL GUNS WITHOUT BARREL SOCKS. If you play at legit fields, it’s usually “Mask On” within the netted areas then “Barrel Covers On” outside the netted areas (staging area, parking lot, etc).
- Never shoot at animals and never shoot at people who are NOT in the game.
- Statistically speaking, paintball is safer than bowling. Google it, that’s an actual statistic, although it takes into account all injuries – muscle & joint injuries are common among bowlers, moreso than paintball. Welts in paintball are not considered injuries, as they’re not debilitating.
As for the gear, keep in mind paintball is an expensive sport/hobby. Expect to spend at least $200 on everything (gun, tank, hopper, mask, maybe a pack & some pods). There are packages that include everything you need but usually something included sucks so you’d need a different one, anyway. I always recommend throwing together a package of your own or piecing together different packages (like getting a gun by itself then a hopper/tank combo or something like that).
Having a precise budget would help us recommend specific gear.
