Off Disconnect
During a storm is it neccessary to disconnect the television or should it simply be kept off?
I thought it was bad if lightning hit and the tv was on because the power surge could damage it but that if the tv was off the lightning wouldn’t affect it. Is this right?
I live in Miami and it rains and thunders all the time so I don’t know if it may even be bad to be disconnecting it so often. What would you recommend?

Hi … The best bet is to unplug it, it doesn’t do any harm doing it often … Lest it is fried though switched off …Else, Install surge arresters, or atleast fuses and trip switches are cheaper deal, though are really effective … Ground all your appliances having metallic body …
