Paintball Marker Hopper
What are the pros and cons to an A-5 Tippmann Paintball Marker?
What is good and bad about the gun? Im thinking about buying one, is the hopper right in front of your face or is it to the side? Can you buy an angled hopper loader for it? Is it accurate? Whats the bps?
In a nutshell:
Pros -
Top accuracy out of the box
Easily modified to be highly competitive for recreational, woodsball and indoor fields
Cyclone feed means you don’t need an electronic hopper for recreational play
easy maintenance, no tools required.
Cons -
Maximum modification still won’t make it competitive for speedball tournament play
Offset cyclone feed creates a larger profile (a halo hopper or other sleek hopper will reduce your profile)
You can get an A-5 with Response Trigger on either Ebay or Craigslist for around $125.00-$150.00. If you want the E-Trigger, you’re looking at around $200.00-$250.00.
The Cyclone Feed system is rated at up to 20bps. The response trigger is considered semi-auto, but if you find that sweet spot you can hold the trigger around halfway and get a full-auto effect. The E-Trigger means you have to keep batteries on hand… the Response Trigger is all mechanical.
If you look online you will find thousands of configurations for the Tippmann A-5. I bought my A-5 R/T on Ebay for $135, a 1 piece 21″ barrell for $25 on Ebay and a collapsible stock for $10 off of Craigslist. I’ve listed a lot of resources for you below.
