Painting fiber glass?
i have a fiber glass body kit it came primered but to smooth it out a bit i sanded it with 220 and fixed some of the unevenness i then did a small amount of body work and primered the whole thing again i then saned with 500 and a few spot came all the way through to fiber glass. im confident that if i put a base coat over the piece i the transittion will not show but im concerened that the base coat will not stick to fiber glass and will delaminate over time. im looking for an educated answer im doing a custom car and dont want guess work. if the paint will stick to the fiber glass i will base coat clear coat it now if not i will primer the spots i just dont know how well base coat will addhear to fiber glass. thank you
just curious who said paint wont hold on fiberglass? man just sand the entire thing a little with like 500 sand paper , PRIME it with PRIMER then paint. thats what primer for ….
