Piranha Ext

Piranha E-Force EXT or Tippmann 98?
Why? Any other sugguestions for a paintball beginner?
An electric gun with a high rate of fire needs an expensive hopper like a Halo to keep it from chopping paintballs. Thats not to say you won’t have fun with a Piranha, just that it can be a bit of a nuisance if you don’t like having to stop in the middle of a game to go clean your barrel out. That being said, most markers that don’t have anti-chop eyes will chop at some point, but I never had it happen in my 98. 98’s are extremely durable, reliable and easy to maintain. You also should look at the kind of paintball you want to play (woodsball or speedball for example) and how you like you’re paintball gun to “feel”- A 98 shoots slow but it feels like a real gun, a Pirahna shoots fast but it feels like a toy. They are both decent guns. Also, I haven’t checked prices lately but I think the EXT is comparable to the Tippman A5 in terms of price and it is an excellent marker. It’s rugged like the 98, more accurate out of the box and the cyclone feed system pretty much guarantees a ball in the chamber every time you pull the trigger. If you want to do some research try pbreview.com, they’ve got just about everything you could want to know about paintball equipment written by people who’ve tried the stuff out.
