Bones Ceramic Bearings come in two versions, the Bones Swiss and the Bones Super Redz. In this lens, I’m going to break down these two great Ceramic bearing options with “How To’ instructions on keeping them running smooth, so you can get the most out of these top rated ceramic bearings.
Did you know that Bones tests all of their bearings with custom equipment. They also have their team ride the bearings until they are no more to see how long they will last and how they perform in actual skating environments.Bones has publicly announced that no bearing they have ever tested has equaled the performance of Bones Swiss.
Super Redz vs. Swiss Ceramic
Bones Super Redz Ceramic Bearings came to be by taking the superior steels used in the Super Redz bearings and then swapped the steel balls for grade 5, silicone nitrade, hot isostatically pressed ceramic balls. These bearings are lighter and provide faster acceleration because the balls weigh very little. They create less friction and are thus faster than Super Redz, with or without lubricant. When you get dirt into your Ceramic Super Redz, the ceramic balls will not rust, further lengthening their life.
Bones Swiss Ceramic Bearings are in a class by themselves. If you want the best there is, this is it. The Cerbec® ceramic balls are much lighter, harder, stronger, and longer lasting than the finest steel balls. Some features and benefits are they accelerate faster, roll faster and farther, resist dirt and moisture better. Since they include a high speed nylon ball retainer, you get greater speed and strength.
