Can you use a Rifle Scope on a Shotgun to shoot Slugs?
I have a Famous Maker Model HT2510T Tactical Scope which I believe is for RIfle. I would like to use it for shooting slugs from a rifled barrel shotgun. Is this a problem?
As long as there is enough eye relief, it will work. The last thing you want is a case of “glass rash”. Most shotgun scopes have a longer eye relief and low magnification. The objective lens is usually set to be parallax free at 50. Rifle scopes are set for 100 yards as a rule or have an adjustable objective so you can set it for whatever range you are shooting. I use a 1.5-4.5X32. It has plenty of magnification for shotgun ranges and at the lower settings it has a big field of view for fast target acquisition. Have fun shooting the gun and remember to wear ear and eye protection.
