How do I save my hermit crabs from a painted shell?
I got hermit crabs about a week ago and he has a painted shell. I was researching about painted hermit crab shells and they say that since hermit crabs are scavengers, they will eat the paint that chips off. Is there any kind of growth stimulant I can feed him to make him need a new shell faster?

Buy a bag full of shells at any craft store. Drop a hand full of them in with him. They love to set up house keeping in different shells. I think you’ll find he will change houses. They are funny little creatures and fun to watch. He’ll try one on for size.
