Are Silver Tip Tetras fin nippers? How about Cooper Rasboras?

IF I were going to put them in a tank with a Betta….

Just wondering…..
Not sold on the idea of putting the Betta in my tank at this stage of planning.

You’re getting some conflicting info here about the tetras, and the situation could actually go either way. Tetras are schooling fish, and will tend to develop a social structure within their group. One fish is going to be dominant within the school, and there will be a “pecking order” of sorts established with the other fish in the tank. As long as you would have 5-6 or more, the tendency to nip fins (and yes, they will do this) is less than if you have fewer individuals of that species and any aggressive behavior should be kept within their group. This behavior will hold true for larger rasboras, barbs, and danios as well – it’s a tendency of schooling fish – it’s just the degree of behavior that changes.

The rasboras you’re considering (I believe these to be Trigonostigma espei/Rasbora espei although they were once considered a variety of Harlequins) shouldn’t be a problem where the betta is concerned, but they might be less active in the presence of the more highly active silver-tips, and spend most of their time hiding.

Also take into consideration the size of tank you’d need to keep this many, and their high activity level.
